Comprehensive knowledge of the property market
Experienced estate agent, Ann Cragg, has joined the team at the Bridgwater office of Greenslade Taylor Hunt following the retirement of long-serving residential manager, John Griffin.
Ann Cragg, who joins the team at Bridgwater, brings a wealth of experience to the office. She has spent the past 15 years in the residential sector with Palmer Snell.
She will be focussing on town properties, while Martyn Venner, who runs the Bridgwater office, will concentrate on rural, village and agricultural properties.
The mix ensures the firm has a comprehensive and in-depth knowledge of the local property market.
Ann said the local market was buoyant with buyers and sellers in evidence.
She said: “In the first 10 days of May I have been instructed on 13 new properties, which is very encouraging!”
“There’s more activity than in the past two years. Sellers & Buyers’ confidence in the market is definitely coming back.”
“We are really enthusiastic. We are confident that you will get the buyers provided prices are realistic.”
John Griffin spent 37 years with the firm in Bridgwater, initially with R.B. Taylor before it became part of the Greenslade Taylor Hunt network.
His knowledge of the local market was built up over many years. It was not uncommon to sell homes to the children and even grandchildren of clients he had dealt with previously.
Indeed, he sold a house to Colin Venner, former partner at Greenslade Taylor Hunt, and father of Martyn Venner, who now runs the Bridgwater branch.
John explained why he had stayed with the same firm in the same office throughout his estate agency career: “I liked the continuity. It was like a big family.
“I like people. I liked dealing with people face to face. It was about the professional and the personal touch.”
A fellow of the National Association of Estate Agents retirement will allow him to devote more time to his many passions. He has a sailing boat on the South Coast. He also owns 12 vintage motorcycles – he rebuilt a 1931 BSA three-wheeler that he bought as a heap of parts. He is also a keen shot and is part of a shooting syndicate. He keeps three gun dogs that also keep him active.
