Commercial Autumn Calvers to 2400gns at Sedgemoor Auction Centre

The rare opportunity to purchase from a commercial herd dispersal of block autumn calvers created national interest when the 430 head from Britten Farming, Shepton Mallet went under the hammer at Sedgemoor Auction Centre.

54 over £2000 with a consistent trade throughout which topped at £2520 for the DG Albero Eliott that had calved in August and was due to her 2nd calf again in August. 2nd calvers due September sold to 2350 gns x3 and 2300 gns x2 and 2200 gns with 1st lactation cows due again also at 2280 gns, 2220 gns x4. Empty December calved 4th lactation cows at 1500gns.

Incalf heifers sold to 1880 gns for a Larcrest Commend ET daughter due September with others at 1850 gns x2, 1820 gns x2 and 1800 gns x5.

Last year’s autumn born calvers topped at 700 gns x2 for Bomaz Altaentrust heifers with others at 680 gns x4 and 650 gns x6.

The 4 year old Pedigree Aberdeen Angus bull sold for 2020 gns.
