Auction specialists Greenslade Taylor Hunt have had a bumper year in their machinery sales department selling over £3.5M worth of tractors, machinery and equipment.

Greenslade Taylor Hunt conduct both on farm dispersal as well as collective sales at Sedgemoor Auction Centre along with the 64-year-old annual one-day Walford Cross Collective Machinery Sale, which draws buyers from across the country.

With over 30 sales being conducted this year GTH’s auctioneers have the expertise to maximise returns. They have conducted sales from South Dorset, across Devon, and all corners of Somerset, from small retirement sales through to large dispersals featuring copious amounts of modern machinery and even complete dispersal sales which included both livestock and machinery.

Machinery auctioneer Tom Mellor said: “Selling the sheer volume of machinery that we have this year has put us to the forefront of auctioneers in the South West of England, which has in turn ensured we are up-to-date with the trade and who is in the marketplace looking to buy. With our dedicated team we are able to cater for all types of machinery sale.”

Some of the highlights included selling Lely A4 Robotic milking machines which sold for £98,500 for a pair and £47,500 for a single unit in an on farm dispersal near Taunton in May. An impressive £78,500 for a 2012 John Deere T550i Hillmaster combine with low hours, followed by a 2016 John Deere 6155R tractor selling to £66,500 both at a dispersal sale near Minehead in September. In May a joint dispersal held on farm near Bridgwater realised £51,000 for a 2016 Pottinger Jumbo 6610 Forage Wagon and 2013 Massey Fergusson 7620 Dyna-V reach £49,200.
