Gawthorpe Estates Ltd removed their autumn calving, loose housed crossbred dairy herd from Manor Farm Warnford Hampshire to Sedgemoor Auction Centre on Tuesday 14th May and were rewarded with an exceptional trade through out for this rare opportunity to purchase from a quality high yielding cross bred herd.

September calved heifers due again in September to Punch and giving 37 kgs topped the day at 2050gns.  She was out of a Brown Swiss crossed dam and by Currajungle Gonzo. Another heifer due in September by Branly sold to 2000gns.  Other Brown Swiss cross heifers due again in August sold to 1950gns with 2nd lactation Montbeliarde X cows due again selling for 1780gns.

Incalf Heifers due August to December met the trade of the year selling to 1600gns for Warnfordpark Grafeeti Abigail due to Bionic sexed semen and out of a 11,000kgs dam, others by the same sire and from the Dandelion family sold to 1580gns and a further 5 at 1550gns.

Last year’s heifer calves born September and by Scientific Destry sold to 720gns with others by Seagull-Bay MJ Solaris at 710gns x 3.

Included in the dispersal were three bulls the Herefords sold to top the day at 2250gns for the April 2017 born Broadgate 1 Pioneer (P) and the 5 year old Broadgate 1 Monarch at 2050gns.  The pure bred Limousin made 1200gns.

Auctioneers Greenslade Taylor Hunt welcomed buyers from Cornwall to Wales who made the most of the opportunity to purchase from this great herd and produced the following excellent averages:
