February 2022

The decision to combine two smaller dispersal sales for DJ Curtis of Street and WJW Tucker & Sons of Wedmore was well rewarded with a good trade throughout at Sedgemoor Auction Centre on Tuesday 1st February 2022.

The day started with surplus dairy equipment followed by the milking portion of the robotic milked dairy herd for David and Mary Curtis. Fresh second calvers by Mozarella sold to 2000gns with others by the same sire at 1950gns x 2. Calved heifers by Silverstar also sold to 1950gns x2.

Hugh and Elaine Tucker’s consignment of 69 conventionally milked cows topped the day at 2100gns for the dry cow Allerways Silver Jane 6th due late February to her 2nd. Fresh commercial second calvers sold to 2000gns as did the 3rd calver Otterwyn Applicable Kirsty, the September calved heifer served again and the September 4th calver giving 47 kgs.

The Curtis’s youngstock concluded the day with incalf heifers selling to 1600gns, 1550gns and 1500gns x 2. Bulling heifers produced a much improved trade selling to 920gns x 2 for Kingsley daughters and 880gns x 3 for heifers by Nihao, Sound System and Superjet.
