August Collective Sale tops at 2500gns with ALL fresh cows and heifers averaging a record £2039

Calved Heifers to 2500gns ,  Cows to 2300gns,  Incalf Heifers to 1900gns

A shorter supply when milk was in great demand generated an exceptional trade from the excellent crowd around the ring.

40% sold for over 2000gns topping at 2500gns for the last calved heifer of the day sold being Wentlooge Grazie Erica from first time consigners AR Edwards & Son, South Wales. Other heifers to 2250gns for DC Dennis & Son Ltd‘s Dinnaton Currency Odette and 2150gns AJ Limond, 2100gns PE King (Bristol) Ltd.

Cows topped at 2300gns for Chris and Mike King’s (Bristol) Kingspool Doubledeal Roxy who was fresh in her second giving 49 kgs with others for the same vendor to 2150gns and 2100gns for DC Dennis & Sons Ltd.

Incalf heifers saw great demand for the closer calving types but those calving after December continued to be an easier trade. Topping at 1900gns for PE King (Bristol) Ltd, whose consignment of 12 Incalf Heifers averaged an impressive £1753 with top honours going to a daughter of Penmanship.

Incalf cows out of block calving pattern from Sutton Hall Farms met a super trade selling to 1120gns for a heifer due to her second in late November to the Pedigree Angus Bull.

Maiden heifers sold to 880gns x2 from the Elmes family with daughter Catherine consigning Crystal Brady Lulu and father Chris Swallowdale Millennium Deb. Other maiden heifers to 860gns for E & HM Sheldon with yearlings to 710gns for RW Edwards’ Brinseagreen Airton P Opal.

With a large crowd following the sale all day the 24 successful buyers were from Cornwall to Gloucestershire and across to Carmarthen and most counties in between creating the following impressive averages:
