A smaller entry of fresh milk sold to a strong trade topping at 1950gns for an April calved heifer by “Lone-Oaks-Acres Altarabo” and out of a 14,000kgs dam. She was one of the final consignment of the Henden Manor Estates LLP dispersal from Kent and together with her “G-Deruyter Altanitro” daughter realised 2210gns. At 1900gns was another heifer from the same consignment with others at 1850gns and 1820gns x 2 for DC Dennis & Son Ltd and their “Dinnaton” heifers.
Freshly calved cows again from Henden Manor Estates LLP sold to 1850gns for a second calver by “Sandy-Valley Altasilver”. Another second calver “Dinnaton Palermo Jareb Miss Morn GP83” sold for 1720gns.
A consignment of organic milking cows and heifers from Coombe Farming sold to 1800gns for an April calved heifer by “No-Fla Hurst”.
Bulls sold to 1350gns for “Goonhilly Saul” from VC & FC Tripconey Ltd’s Goonhilly British Friesians from Cornwall.
The market’s largest ever consignment of maiden heifers from one farm being 375 head for Y Farms Partnership saw the stronger heifers in demand, selling to a top of 1140gns for the “Willsbro Abbott” daughter from 11 generations of VG or EX hailing from the “Lulu” family, at 1000gns was “Yfarm Achieve Raven” from 7 generations of dams in the top two grades of which 6 were scored Excellent. Others at 800gns and 780gns for the “Sara” and “Roxy families respectively.
The heifer calves topped at 380gns for two of the 132 “Wiltor Dreamer” daughters catalogued.
Five hours of selling and 54 different purchasers from Ireland, Cornwall to Carmarthen produced the following averages:
