The July Collective Sale at Sedgemoor Auction Centre was the largest entry to date for this year's monthly sales with nearly 300 head forward, drawing a good company of buyers to include a large Welsh contingent of 9 purchasers, despite a large sale in Herefordshire, producing a good trade throughout.

Fresh milk sold to 2350gns for the June calved heifer Birchwood Calcumet Thorny 22nd out of a VG88 dam she was part of the continued dispersal for K & M Bond & Son and travelled to Carmarthen.  At 2250gns was the commercial calved heifer by Seagull-Bay-MJ Solaris ET from Cleave Farm Partnership.  Other calved heifers to 2050gns K & M Bond & Son, 1950gns RK & SG Miller & Sons and 1900gns Lotmead Partnership of Swindon who sold 50 March to June calvers.
Cows sold to 1950gns for the February calved 2nd calver served again in May Dinderleat Colonial Colanthe from first time consigners KP & CJ Dunn of Wells who also had third calvers at 1850gns.  Another 2nd calver from K & M Bond & Son sold for 1850gns.

The recent strong incalf heifer trade continued to produce a top call of 1760gns for Clenchers Megasire Jovial due in August to sexed semen consigned by PT & JC Hinds of Cirencester who had others at 1700gns, 1680gns & 1620gns x 2.
Out of calving pattern non recorded commercial cows from Sutton Hall Farms of Sussex due November to January sold to an exceptional trade topping at 1350gns for a 3rd calver due to the British Blue and a 2nd calver due to the Angus.  Incalf heifers from the same farm sold to 1320gns for those due October to the Sussex.

Bulling heifers sold to 1010gns for a smart red heifer Kingspool Berlin Red Ruth from PE King Ltd who had others @ 900gns as did Mr & MK Powell from Cardiff with Tyrywen Mardi Gras Primrose.

JF Cobb & Sons consigned a bunch of exceptionally well grown yearlings to produce the trade of the day selling to 900gns x 3 for daughters of Broeks Hyperion & Abs Onyx all with PLIs in excess of 500.  The same vendor continued with their monthly consignment of heifer calves which sold to 460gns x2 for March born daughters of Abs Outback & Matcrest Dewey.  RT Cox also sold two red heifer calves April born selling to 500gns for Holmead Awesome Viola Red.
Bulls sold to 1200gns for Walkabout Bill from E Gay & Sons.
