Greenslade Taylor Hunt’s first dispersal sale of 2020 generated tremendous interest for the 100 commercial non recorded cows and incalf heifers from KA Franks & Sons of Glastonbury.

An exceptional trade for the spring / summer calving herd topped at 1720gns for the Jan 2019 calved heifer that was 3 months back incalf to Lakemead Barnaby.  At 1700gns was the 3rd lactation November calved cow giving 28kgs and the April 2019 calved 2nd lactation cow due again in the summer.  20% of the herd were 5th to 10th lactation cows with an 8th calver at 950gns and 6th at 1500gns.

A total clearance of cows produced an impressive all-inclusive average of £1193.  The incalf heifers due in the spring to the Aberdeen Angus bull sold to 1300gns and averaged £1147.50.  The 101 head forward on the day averaged £1126 showing the current strong demand for all types of dairy stock.
