The removal of the pedigree dairy herd from Hadlow College Kent to Somerset was rewarded with buyers in attendance from across the south west, Sussex and Wales with many more watching at home on Marteye.

Fresh milk continues to be in strong demand with top call of the day at 2500gns (£2625) for the fresh second calver ‘Hadlow Silver Starlet’ who sold to Carmarthen, her month old heifer calf followed at 360gns.  Two Rose Royce daughters followed at 2100gns for the red ‘Michelle’ and 2050gns for ‘Marigold’ the first lot of the day.

Calved heifers sold to 2000gns for Hadlow Quantum Adrienne, incalf heifers to 1400gns for a daughter of Armour and yearlings to 780gns for daughters of Bloomfield and Neptune. 'A' lot heifer calves topped at 420gns for an Impression daughter.

Under 180 animals catalogued still generated 30 individual purchasers with a number going home empty handed or requiring more with the following creditable averages achieved for the all year round calving herd:
