The selective trade seen of late continued with the best cows in strong demand resulting in good prices, but those with faults harder to place.
The Pamela and Roxy families topped the day selling at 2,200gns for the fresh 3rd lactation Lydace Munchen Pamela (GP80) and the January calved heifer Lydace Celeb Roxy (GP82). At 2,020gns was another January calved heifer Lydace Superstyle Mandy (GP83).
Incalf heifers due May and September sold to 1,320gns for Lydace Jubilee Pat 3rd by Shanael Winsconsin Jubilee Red and Lydace Superstyle Teacup 2nd off 3 generations of VG dams. Other daughters of Cogent DG Superstyle sold to 1,300gns x2 for members of the Anna and Mavis families.
Yet again the Roxy’s and Pamela’s shone in the bulling section selling to 1,250gns for the Superstyle Roxy 3rd and Class Pamela 3rd. The herd included a handful of Brown Swiss with the youngsters selling well at 1,000gns was the January 2018 born Placedo Danelle 2nd PI, 920gns 10 month old BSR heifer Bosphus Primrose and the non-registered heifer calf born November by Twinkle-Hill SB Laborghini sold for 520gns.
Purchasers from Cornwall, Wales, and Herefordshire generated the following averages:
