Fast Dairy Trade for Milk Continues at SAC

The decision to dissolve the partnership of Shayes Farm LLP brought two commercial herds of 214 head to the market. Flying herd cows that had block calved from July to October produced a strong trade across the board. The recent lift in milk price continued to fuel the demand for milk even with 110 of the cows sold being 4th lactation plus and 180 having calved during July and August.
Those that sold between 1820gns and 1900gns were all August or September calved with 4th calvers at 1850gns and 2nd calvers topping the sale at 1900gns.
34 successful purchasers on the day both in the ring and on Marteye from across the South and Wales produced a very creditable average of £1287 (exc faults).
