For bidders from all corners of the UK, the star attraction of the day was Willsbro Tropic Sharon, part of a large consignment from the Wills Brothers she sold to the Mitchell family in partnership with Chris Martindale (Laram Holsteins) for 6400gns. She is the daughter of one of their best heifers Lambda Sharon who classified VG88 as a two year old, hailing from the same family as Picston Shottle and a purchase that Anthony Wills made back at the Smiddiehill Sale in 2009.

The sale featured four different breeds with animals consigned from Essex, Cornwall, Cumbria, Carmarthen and all areas in between.
Mary Hill from the Stowey herd consigned a wonderful selection of Pedigrees with two of her Reds creating the most interest and taking the next two top prices. Stowey Altitude Glory Red was polled and bred from 20 generations of Excellent and Very Good classified cows with 19 of them being scored Excellent, she stays in Somerset being purchased by Randolph Miller of the Moorshard herd. At 4600gns was the six week old Red calf from the Ex95 sister to Diamondback Danielle, her sire Monopoly is not available in Europe and her closes 8 dams average a very impressive 94 points, she makes the journey across to Ireland to join the Tubbertoby herd of Paul Flanagan.

David Jones of Wiltor fame is never far away from the top with two Crushabull daughters taking the next two highest prices, firstly at 4500gns was a member of the Atlee family, a daughter of their show winning Doorman Atlee who was incalf and would be a likely candidate for the 2022 shows having sold to Kevin Rickard of Starlet Holsteins. Just behind at 4400gns was a Cosmopolitan that has a brother about to be released in AI selling to the Cotterell family from Wells.
A VG87-2yr Guernsey who was bred from an Ex96 dam sold for 3600gns from the Glanmor Herd, with Holstein calved heifers topping at 3000gns for Willsbro Scenic Lila Z.

A choice of Ayrshires from Chris and Nicky Lockyer that traced back to the Ex97 Jemima sold to 2000gns and Jerseys from the Robertsons sold to 1700gns for Olympic Tequilas Belladonna.
As the sun shone and a lot of farmers were busy hay making the online bidding portal, Marteye once again played an important part in the sale with 35% selling online. 46 purchasers were recorded from all across England, Wales Scotland and Ireland creating the following creditable averages.
