Put together by auctioneer and valuer Simon Rayner it showcases the highlights of the era from furniture to ceramics.
A good selection of pottery by ever-popular Moorcroft will be included along with examples of retro designs by British and Continental makers.
In the June sale a brooch by one of the most successful Danish silver designers proved a particular highlight.
Arno Malinowksi (1899-1976) worked with the respected Georg Jensen Company from 1936 to 1944 and from 1949 to 1965 creating designs for jewelery and hollowware.
His jewellery often includes detailed designs of animals. The offering at Greenslade Taylor Hunt was a silver brooch in the form of a robin on a fern frond. It sold for £420.
He also designed the "Kingmark" to celebrate the 70th birthday of King Christian X in 1940. The Kingmark was produced in great number and worn by Danes to show their loyalty to Denmark and their resistance to the German occupation.
The June sale also saw an excellent price for a signed colour print by artist LS Lowry. “The Beach” published by Venture Prints Limited sold for £1700.
The July sale will follow the regular monthly antiques sale and will commence at 3pm. Both sales are on view this Saturday (June 29) at The Octagon Salerooms, East Reach, Taunton.
There are further opportunities to view on Tuesday, July 2, and Wednesday, July 3. For more information please contact the saleroom on 01823 332525.
