Nearly 900 lots will go under the hammer at Greenslade Taylor Hunt tomorrow (Thursday, September 6) and Friday. As well as the usual fine array of antiques to tempt salegoers the auctioneers will also be supporting the MacMillan Cancer Big Coffee Morning and will be urging visitors to invest in a cake and a cuppa during their visit.

The official coffee morning takes place at the end of the month, but the auctioneers are hosting their event now to coincide with sale days.

Refreshments will be provided at The Octagon Salerooms, East Reach, Taunton, during the antiques sale and Friday’s quarterly collectors’ sale, which both begin at 10am. The salerooms have been hosting coffee mornings throughout the week to aid the cancer charity.

There is plenty to interest the keen collector with items to suit all tastes and price points. The sale includes a significant collection of dolls.

Fans of model cars will be spoilt for choice at the auction, as no fewer than three private collections have been consigned to the sale, each of them built up over many years by long term enthusiasts.

There are a number of 1/18 scale model cars by well regarded German maker CMC, which are sure to prove a hit with keen collectors.

Postcards and cigarette cards are also well represented along with coins and Railwayana and  an interesting section of edged weapons and antique firearms.
