Youngsters from a pre-school rated “outstanding” by Ofsted will be able to play and learn in all weathers thanks to a donation by estate agents Greenslade Taylor Hunt.

The Watery Lane Pre-school in Minehead has received £200 from Greenslade Taylor Hunt to provide a shelter, which will be used all year round.

Liz Kane, Watery Lane Pre-school Manager, said: “The children will benefit hugely from the shelter to enable them to continue their learning outdoors in all weathers. Outdoor learning is critical to a child’s development including all the expected early years’ curriculum but especially for them to learn life skills.

“Learning to manage risks, the importance of wellbeing and nature…these crucial skills will be fostered throughout our sessions and the shelter will mean many more opportunities for the children to benefit both in our on site garden and our forest school site.”

Caroline Ferris, Residential Manager at the Minehead office of Greenslade Taylor Hunt, said: “We are delighted to support the pre-school and know what a useful resource the shelter will be.”
