Initially, one lot was sold prior to auction and another was withdrawn, leaving 12 lots on offer at the Shrubbery. The event saw a 75% clearance and an additional lot sold immediately after the auction.
There was a fantastic range of agricultural land and investment property on offer which drew quite a crowd, meaning the auction room was packed ready for bidding to start at 3pm.
The bidding started with two residential properties, the first being Endlinch Cottage, a two bedroom cottage in Hambridge in need of renovation selling well to £185,000. The next being a generous three bedroom mid terrace property at 95 Goldcroft, Yeovil, again requiring modernisation, achieving £128,000.
The lots then moved on to an agricultural theme, with small amenity parcels of land selling extremely well. The first was an attractive fruit orchard extending to around 0.52 acres which sold for £20,000. Next was possibly the star lot of the day. The land and modest sized traditional stone barn at Upton, Skilgate, extending to approximately 1.10 acres, guided at £35,000 and achieved a phenomenal £95,000!
Our next Public Auction will be on Thursday 17th October 2019 at Batch Country House, Batch Lane, Lympsham, Nr Weston-Super-Mare, Somerset, BS24 0EX at 7pm.
