All four are senior figures with a long track record in the property industry. Mark Chugg MRICS joins the firm from Savills and has a wealth of experience having worked in the property sector for 20 years.
Based in Taunton he will cover the whole of the South West and specialise in development work, including agency, consultancy and valuation and in particular strategic land.
Also strengthening the Development and Planning Department is Russell Williams. He is an experienced planning officer, most recently having worked for Taunton Deane District Council. He will be based at the firm’s Chard office.
Graham Ford, Development and Planning Partner, said: “The two key appointments have demonstrated GTH's commitment to the expansion of the development and planning department now offering professional advice to a range of clients including private landowners across the South West.”
Senior commercial surveyor Simon Welch has joined from Gilyard Scarth in Sherborne to work alongside Robert Clark in Yeovil. Together, they will build on the firm’s continuing success in South Somerset and Dorset.
Whilst Robert will continue assisting clients with commercial agency, Simon’s appointment will allow him to concentrate on expanding the landlord & tenant consultancy, valuation and management side of the business. Simon will focus on commercial, investment and development agency.
Simon graduated from Bournemouth University in 2000 before completing an MA in Property Valuation & Law at City University and qualifying as a chartered surveyor in 2005. He spent 12 years working in London including with CLS Holdings PLC and M & G Real Estate dealing with the management, disposal and acquisition of sizeable portfolios of commercial property.
Completing the strong line up is Melanie Barton MARLA. She is a long-standing and experienced lettings professional. She is keen to offer expert advice to both landlords and tenants and has set up a Lettings Advice Centre from her Honiton base.
