A charity lunch with legendary cricket commentator Henry Blofeld and award winning comedian Nathan Caton held at Somerset County Cricket Club raised an impressive £9,000 for the Lord’s Taverners – the UK’s leading youth cricket and disability sports charity dedicated to giving young people a sporting chance.

The highly successful event was the first of its kind hosted by the newly formed Somerset branch of the Lord’s Taverners and plans are already in place for the next one at the same venue on December 5, 2018.

The inaugural event was supported by many local businesses including Ashfords, Peter Brett Associates, Summerfield, Francis Clark, Towergate, Lyn Financial Services, Greenslade Taylor Hunt, Hawksmoor Investment Managers, Rowan Dartington, Barbers of Ditcheat, Hugh Thompson Financial Advisers, Maxwells, McCarthy and Stone, Barclays, Milsted Langdon, Arditti Carpets, Harris and Harris Construction, Outback Organics, Simon Collier Planning, Alder King and Cooper Associates.

Tom Mellor, of GTH, conducted the auction to great effect.
