Mammoth Charity Cycle Ride Underway

And they’re off today (June 28) on a challenging 150-mile cycle ride from Sedgemoor Auction Centre to the London headquarters of two charities.

Generous friends, colleagues and clients, have already hit the £5,000 target the eight members of the agricultural team had hoped to raise for Leukaemia UK and Young Lives Vs Cancer.

They have now revised their target to £8,000 following a flurry of donations from kind supporters.

The challenge has been inspired by three-year-old Henry Mellor, son of Tom Mellor, one of the Partners at Sedgemoor.

Henry was diagnosed with leukaemia in November 2021 and has been undergoing treatment ever since.

Tom and his family stayed in accommodation provided by Young Lives Vs Cancer while Henry was treated at Bristol Children’s Hospital.

Andy Clements, Associate, said: “This has brought the effects of cancer closer to home for the agricultural team at Sedgemoor and we wanted to raise as much money as possible to support two very worthy charities.”

The team comprises James Wotton, Jamie Batt, Rob Baker, Harriet Pike, Emily Roberts, Charlotte Scott, Ryan Doble and Andy Clements. Tom Mellor will be following as the support crew.

The arduous 150 mile cycle ride takes place today (June 28) and tomorrow (June 29). Please visit the team’s JustGiving page to support this vital cause at www.justgiving.com/team/sedgemoortothecity
