Experienced chartered surveyor Sarah Woollacott BSc (Hons) MRICS FAAV has just joined the team at the Tiverton office of Greenslade Taylor Hunt.

She will be undertaking general professional work including planning, valuations, and agricultural consultancy work including BPS and Countryside Stewardship.

Sarah has over 15 years experience in the industry and is a chartered surveyor and Fellow of the Association of Agricultural Valuers.

She lives with her partner Mark and their daughter Grace on Mark’s family dairy farm near South Molton, where he milks a herd of pedigree Ayreshire cattle on a grazing based system and rears dairy young stock.
“North Devon has always been home for me as I grew up on my parents’ family beef and sheep farm on the northern edge of Exmoor in the Doone Valley,” said Sarah.

Previously Sarah worked for Savills based in their Exeter office doing general professional work and estate management.  Prior to that she worked for Devon County Council as an RDPE Development Officer, working with farmers across Devon helping them with grant applications for farm diversification and adding value through the Rural Development Program for England.

Sarah will be working out of the Tiverton office with Graeme Biffen MRICS FAAV, who heads up the rural professional team.

Welcoming Sarah’s appointment he said: “we’re delighted that Sarah has joined us, further strengthening our Devon team and bringing in particular her expertise in rural planning and grants, at a time when the diversification of income streams is becoming ever more important for farmers throughout the region”.

Recently, Sarah and Mark judged the Somerset CMA Farm Business Competition (under 500-acre category) and took baby Grace along, who was just seven-months-old at the time.

“I really enjoyed meeting the farmers and seeing the different approaches the competitors took. Thankfully, Grace was really well behaved but it was still a challenge to do five farms and another farm walk and a competition dinner in two days with two nights away with a seven-month-old baby!
