Christina managed to run 37.5 miles of the 57-mile run from Wellington-Burnham-on-Sea and back to raise funds for the neonatal intensive care unit at Southmead Hopsital, Bristol, which cared for baby Harry.
She ran through the pain barrier on what should have been Harry’s 10th birthday. Sadly the youngster spent his short life in hospital and died at just eight months of age.
His parents Nathan and Beth were overwhelmed with the support and care he received at Southmead and have fundraised tirelessly in his memory.
Dad Nathan headed the team of runners for the memorial event. They smashed their target of £3,500 and with money still coming in hope to raise around £5,500. This will mean Nathan has raised nearly £30,000 over the last 10 years for the worthy cause.
Christina said: “I am so proud of my family.”
Even her little grandson, Freddie, who is eight, ran the last five miles and his little sister Gracie, also took part.
