We are delighted to announce the appointment of an experienced chartered surveyor as an Associate.

Tim Smith BSc Hons MRICS, will be working from the firm’s Development Land and Planning office in Taunton and the newly opened Exeter office alongside Graham Ford and Mark Chugg MRICS, Partners in the Land and Planning Department.

Tim has over 20 years’ post qualification experience, the last 16 years of which have been spent working in the South West of England.

He specialises in development land agency, valuation and consultancy, as well as strategic land.

Having worked for several large surveying practices as well as client-side for a large private property company, he has been involved with a wide range of developments in a number of sectors.

Mark Chugg says: “We are delighted to welcome Tim to our firm and the Development Land and Planning Department. He will bring with him a wealth of knowledge, experience and expertise which will enable us to expand our client base and area of coverage and lead to further expansion in due course.”

The department has expanded enormously since relocating to its base beside the M5 at Taunton in 2016. It provides a comprehensive range of architectural, planning and development services beneath the “land and planning” umbrella; from drawing and design for an individual extension to tailored advice for landowners, private clients and developers, in order to achieve the necessary planning and building regulation consents required to allow projects to proceed.

Our experienced team deals with planning applications for all types of development including agricultural, residential, commercial, healthcare, leisure and tourism.

They can offer comprehensive, expert advice on a range of issues relating to the planning process for individuals looking to construct a bespoke home to large-scale schemes for developers. They are also well placed to help clients achieve consent for Listed Building projects whilst satisfying the local authority’s conservation requirements.

Our well-qualified team includes planning consultants, an architect and architectural designers supported by a team of CAD operators and specialist surveyors, who can provide all the help needed through the process from design to completion.

They have long-standing professional relationships with planning officers at local authorities throughout the South West and maintain a sound understanding of planning policy and practice.
