A memorial walk for a popular developer and keen golfer has got off to a tremendous start and has already smashed its fundraising target.

Ros Wills is walking 10,000 steps every day in March to raise money for Cancer Research in memory of her husband Andrew Gadd, who died of cancer within 25 days of his diagnosis last year.

Ros hoped to raise £1,500 by completing 10,000 steps each day in March in addition to continuing her demanding work as a busy physiotherapist – a key worker who has carried on seeing clients throughout the pandemic.

Just days into March she has already strode past that initial figure with the fundraising total currently standing at £3,855.

Due to COVID a planned memorial service has been cancelled, but hopefully, a golf day will take place once restrictions are lifted.

“Andrew faced the challenge of terminal cancer with dignity, strength and even humour and I intend to honour his memory through my own personal challenge,“ she explained.

Staff at GTH were privileged to have worked with Andrew on a number of construction projects and we are proud to be donating £1,000 to the charity fund.

Keen sportsman Andrew was a regular supporter of the annual golf days put on by GTH.
