Land and planning experts from Greenslade Taylor Hunt have recently agreed a number of sales for barn conversions in desirable villages close to Wells.
The appetite for barns appears undimmed amongst private individuals and developers keen to create superior homes of distinction.

Graham Ford, Partner said: “The sales illustrates strong demand for development projects from both developers and private purchasers seeking  to build their dream home. Full marketing of development sites is the only way of guaranteeing best value.”

A private purchaser has bought a substantial barn at Worth, near Wells, for their own occupation. This traditional stone barn is set in a marvellous rural position. It enjoys far reaching views towards the Mendip Hills. Another notable feature is that the Lower River Axe runs through the land.

The agents were quoting a guide price of offers in excess of £375,000 for the property, which had full planning consent to create one superior family residence.
Meanwhile a developer has bought a complex of barns at Riggiston Farm, Main Street, in the popular village of Walton, near Street.

The site, in the centre of the village, has planning permission to convert the barns into a three-bedroom property and two two-bedroom homes. Each of the homes will have open plan living, kitchen and dining  areas plus parking. It is close to the popular shopping destination of Clarks Village.

Finally two private purchasers, who intend to convert and live in the properties, have bought barns at Manor Farm Barns in the desirable village of Henton, near Wells.

Both properties sit in rural positions with extensive, attractive views towards the Mendip Hills.
