It was another fantastic auction at Batch Country House, near Western-super-Mare on Wednesday 3rd July. With 100% clearance for the second time in weeks, the auction room is as great as ever for selling property and land.

Jeremy Bell, Partner, started the auction with an update on the property market, noting how tough it is, but that on a positive note, land is always going to sell. This was good news to vendors who had their land up for sale on the night.

It was not just successful in the fact the lots sold, but all sold for well above their starting price.

One piece of land close to Burnham-on-Sea, with a guide price of £70,000, sold for almost double at £135,000.

Another lot of 35 acres in the village of Priddy, with a guide of £280,000, sold for £350,000.

Our recent auctions have proven that both property and land are continuing to reach high prices. Justin Lowe, Partner, tells us: “Because of the competitive nature of an auction, we are often able to achieve an extra bid over and above the expected price, which is great for those looking to sell their property at auction.”

The sale total on the night was approximately £900,000.
