Adorable Bertie the bear is looking for his forever home and in the process raise funds for cancer charity FORCE.

The four foot tall soft toy is currently gracing the front window of Greenslade Taylor Hunt’s office at  111 High Street, Honiton.

Maggie Wynn, owner of Just Cards, next door to GTH, donated the cuddly character. She wanted to raise money for FORCE – the Friends of the Oncology and Radiotherapy Centre, Exeter, which provides support for people who are receiving cancer treatment.

Doreen Cook, who is part of the Friends of FORCE group in Honiton, came up with the idea of putting the bear in the busy estate agents.

She said: "I thought the best place for him to find a new home is an estate agents - so here he is at GTH as the raffle prize for one lucky winner.”

Pop into the branch to say “Hi” to Bertie and for your chance to win the lovely bear in time for Christmas.

Would-be owners have until Friday, December 13, when the raffle will be drawn, for a chance to win Bertie.  Tickets cost just a £1 a strip and all proceeds go to FORCE.

Stephen Gardner, Residential Partner at GTH, said: “I thought it was a lovely cause to support.

“We’re going to use our online channels to spread the word and try and sell as many tickets as we can for Bertie the bear.”
