Bumper September Land and Property Auction

September 2022

We held a bumper collective land and property auction on 21st September at the Batch Country House, Lympsham, which saw a total of 17 Lots go under the hammer. These ranged from residential property, fishing lakes and moorland right across the district.

An auction highlight was The Railway Hotel, West Lyng (pictured), which comprised a substantial Grade II Listed five bedroom property together with outbuildings set in a whole of 4.2 acres. Competitive bidding from a room full of potential purchasers saw the hammer finally come down at £716,000 and was met with a round of applause at the end, having seen a hard fought battle within the room.

Other sale highlights included fishing lakes and land at Dunwear which sold at £90,000 and the adjacent 2.38 acre land at £64,000. Land at Chilton Trinity sold for £60,000 and £65,000 respectively, both selling for in excess of the guide price.

Our auctioneers are looking forward to their next land and property auctions on 26th October at the Shrubbery Hotel, Ilminster, our inaugural auction at the Aldwick Estate, Redhill on Wednesday 2nd November at 6pm and again at the Batch Country House on Wednesday 30th November. Further entries are invited.
