Commercial property specialists Greenslade Taylor Hunt are celebrating 10 years as Somerset’s most active agent according to respected trade publication Estates Gazette.

Adding to the success commercial surveyor Joseph Hughes has been named “Dealmaker of the Year” for the second year in row. Cementing the firm’s dominance in the sector.

Estates Gazette, the well regarded industry publication, monitors deals across the sector and for the 10th in a row Greenslade Taylor Hunt has come out as securing the most sales and lettings in Somerset.

Mr Hughes said: “It’s been a tumultuous year politically, but the commercial property markets have remained buoyant, with many deals having completed – albeit taking slightly longer.

“Freeholds, as ever, have been performing extremely well, with leaseholds slowing somewhat since Brexit was delayed. The forthcoming year will be an interesting one, both politically and commercially.”

Deals done by the department in the past year include the sale of the iconic former County Stores at 52-53 North Street, Taunton, which was guided at £1,100,000. It sold to a car museum operator.

Family-run Averys Nursery, Silk Mills Road, Taunton was another success for Greenslade Taylor Hunt. It was bought by a private individual looking to move into the gardening/nursery industry.
