New proprietors have snapped up a successful convenience store, butchers and Post Office along with a maisonette following the retirement of long-standing owners Tim and Linda Pope.

The couple ran the popular business in Bishops Hull for many years starting out at the butchers before branching out into the shop and Post Office.

Commercial property specialists Greenslade Taylor Hunt and business sale agents The Business Partnership were quoting a guide price of £450,000 for the prominent store and Post Office along with the three-bedroom flat.

Duncan Brown, Commercial Property Partner at Greenslade Taylor Hunt, said: “This is a popular well supported village shop, one of the success stories when it comes to these types of properties.”

The fully refurbished community store and Post Office is in the heart of Bishops Hull and benefits from a regular, loyal clientele.

Tom Parker, who is taking over the business with his partner, said: “We want to carry on the great work done by Tim and Linda Pope. We thank them for handing over a great business and the support they have shown with the business transfer. We are very keen to keep a thriving business going that plays an important role in the local community.”

The main shop in Bishops Hull Road has an abundance of refrigerated displays and freezers together with good quality shelving. There is also an area for card and magazine sales to the rear.

Upstairs the large three-bedroom flat includes a kitchen, living room, bathroom and sun room. The third bedroom has an en suite bathroom adjacent. Outside there is a paved yard, parking and a garden.
