Greenslade Taylor Hunt report a great crowd of purchasers and supporters that generated an excellent trade for the dispersal sale of racehorse trainers Colin and Pauline Tizzard’s commercial predominantly spring and summer calving NMR herd which was made up of 25% crossbreds. It was the end of an era for the family including former jockey Joe, who are now concentrating on training racehorses after 60 years producing milk at Venn Farm in Dorset.

The 221 milking and dry cows forward on the day sold to 2000gns for the fresh second calver by “Schillview Garrett” and the October calved heifer by “Ardnasalem Bookem Pride” both purchased by DW Ford of Tincelton, Dorchester. The same purchaser paid 1850gns for a second lactation September calved cow and the fresh third calver “Weaver Hazel 135th”. Other calved heifers sold to 1850gns for a “Morningview Legend” daughter to join a consignment of 30 that travelled to Herefordshire.

Incalf heifers due December to Aberdeen Angus or Hereford sold to 1030gns for another “Morningview Legend” daughter.
