The decision made by Chris and Sally Cunliffe to cease dairy farming resulted in a traditional farm sale being held on farm at Winsham, Chard by Auctioneers Greenslade Taylor Hunt on Tuesday 24th October.

Crowds gathered for the deadstock, which started the sale and included the 2006 MF 5455 Tractor which sold for £20,200, the 1987 MF 390 Tractor for £8,500, Richard Western FW10 Forage Wagon at £7,400, 10,000 litre Fullwood Bulk Tank for £6,400 and the MF 565 Yard Tractor at £3, 200.

The commercial dairy herd which had been run as a flying herd produced good demand for fresh milk with “Gest Norah 114th” a second calver giving 42.6 kgs topping the sale at 1620gns. Another “Gest” bred second calver sold to 1600gns as did the commercial July calved second calver by “Larcrest Chandon”.
