Thursday 20th September saw the dispersal of GR Gould’s Charolais “Mulberryherd” at Sedgemoor Auction Centre. Careful purchases in recent years were rewarded with a top price of 4000gns for the “Balbithan Mango” heifer. Purchased as a maiden heifer by son Harry at last year’s dispersal, she sold incalf to “Cockerington James”.

The other Balbithan cow, 11 year old “Clematis” sold for 3200gns with her heifer calf at foot and back incalf to “James”.

The polled bulls were in strong demand selling to 2700gns for “Mulberryherd Nicholas” born April 2017 out of the “Cotehouse Junction” dam and by “James”. January 2017 born “Napoleon” out of the “Midas Erica” dam sold for 1900gns.

Incalf heifers sold to 1400gns for “Mulberryherd Mercedes Royale” out of “Baggrave Umberleigh” and due to “James”.

A consignment of 26 Hereford X Cows with Spring born Charolais calves at foot sold to a “Spring trade” topping at £1600 for son Harry Gould.
