Causes close to the heart were the beneficiaries of the annual South West Winter Fair 2017 which raised £2,000 for the Love Musgrove campaign.

Adam Hayes, one of the winter fair organisers, and hill farmer Stuart Stacey, whose late wife Mary, was a committee member handed over the cheque.

Fittingly, The Beacon Centre, where Mary received treatment will receive £1,000 of the money raised. The remainder will be divided between Ward 9, which provides haematology treatment connected with coronary care, and the Coronary Care Unit. They will each receive £500.

The money was raised from a general raffle at the 2017 event and the fatstock dinner at Somerset County Cricket Club.

Preparations are well in hand for this year’s South West Winter Fair, which takes place on Monday 3 December at Sedgemoor Auction Centre, Junction 24, North Petherton, near Bridgwater.

As well as the usual attractions of the 12th annual Christmas Show there will be a new food and artisan fair. For more information please contact Adam Hayes or Louise Baker on 01278 410278 and you can find the schedule and conditions for the show here.
