Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs)
We have specialist Assessors and Surveyors accredited to provide Energy Performance Certificates on all types of residential and commercial buildings.
Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs) give information on how to make a building more energy efficient and reduce energy costs. It is a legal requirement for most residential and commercial buildings being sold or let to hold a valid EPC, although there are some exemptions.
EPCs include:
information on a building’s energy use and typical energy costs
a recommendation report with suggestions to reduce energy use and save money
New rules enforced from April 2018, the Minimum Energy Effciency Standards (MEES), compel landlords of commercial properties to ensure their buildings have an EPC rating of at least an E. This means all new lettings must meet at least an E rating. These regulations will apply to all commercial premises by 2023, even where a lease is already in place or the premises are occupied.
