Derek joined WRJ Greenslade & Co in 1983 from Berry Bros in Northampton. A dairy farmer’s son from Castle Cary in Somerset, he trained at the Royal Agricultural College, Cirencester and was articled at RB Taylor & Son in Yeovil in 1978. Derek became an equity partner in 1986 at the age of 27. He heads up the farm sales department as a specialist live and deadstock auctioneer and spends up to two days a week at Sedgemoor Auction Centre. In 2009 he took over the management of the antiques department based at The Octagon Saleroom, Taunton, where he, along with his team, including his wife Samantha, conduct monthly Antique and Specialist Sales, as well as General Sales staged at Sedgemoor Auction Centre. He is on the Arbitrator’s panel for specialist livestock valuations of all types. He is actively involved in carrying out TB valuations in Wales and in his spare time he manages his livestock farm in the Vale of Taunton.

Andy is a dairy farmer’s son from North Somerset. After graduating from the Royal Agricultural University of Cirencester in 2010, he joined Greenslade Taylor Hunt in the Live and Deadstock Department and is often seen selling dairy cattle, calves and machinery. During his time at Sedgemoor Auction Centre Andy has built up the pedigree section, bringing the National Holstein Sale to Sedgemoor, where he sold the top price of 15,000gns. Andrew was made an Associate in 2020.

Sunny joined Greenslade Taylor Hunt in March 2012. She is a Dairy Farmers daughter, from Axbridge in Somerset, and is responsible for the cataloguing of farm sales. Her hobbies include Netball, Horse Riding and working on the family farm.

Sophie started with Greenslade Taylor Hunt working Saturdays, on the Sheep section at Taunton Market, she then joined the firm full time in 2010 after finishing College in Taunton. Sophie has done most of her socialising and charity work through the Young Farmers Club, Culm Valley, which has given her a great insight into agriculture and farming. She works as a farm sales clerk for the dairy, machinery and general sales held at Sedgemoor Auction Centre and on farms. On Saturdays, she works on the dairy section and during the week at the Agricultural Office at Sedgemoor Auction Centre.

Emily joined GTH in 2021 after finishing her A-Levels in 2020. She is from a Dorset farming family, an active member of Sherborne Young Farmers and enjoys showing her families pedigree Herefords throughout the year. On Saturdays she works on the Dairy section in Sedgemoor Auction Centre and during the week in the Agricultural Office preparing and clerking the live and deadstock sales.

Claire joined GTH in October 2022, as Administrator at the Sedgemoor Agricultural Office, having previously worked as an IT Administrator in the aircraft industry. The transition from aircraft to agriculture has been an interesting one for her and she looks forward to learning more about the work of the Agricultural office. In her spare time Claire enjoys hiking on the Somerset levels and watching Somerset play cricket.
