Where is Sherborne?


Located six miles from Yeovil, Sherborne is an attractive market town set on the River Yeo, in the northwest of Dorset and benefits from being on the direct rail line to London.

Sherborne offers a dynamic high street, offering a variety of locally owned shops and boutiques as well as distinctive antiques and great places to grab a coffee. Once the capital of Wessex and since the Saxon King Alfred was educated in the town, there has always been a school in Sherborne. Nowadays, Sherborne School remains one of the top independent schools in Britain. With two castles, a splendid Abbey and the charming Almshouse, Sherborne boasts its distinct history through its striking buildings.
