70 years of breeding shines through the youngstock at the Riverbride Dispersal held at Sedgemoor Auction Centre on Tuesday 4th August 2020. Martin and Carolyn Buckland’s decision to cease dairy production produced an exceptional demand for their calved heifers and followers. The first 3 calved heifers sold achieved 2000gns for members of the “Temptrous” and “Phoebe” families. Cows also sold to 2000gns for a 2nd calved “Phoebe”, 5th calved Ex91 “Temptrous” and 4th calved VG86 “Miss America”. The dry cow “Grafeeti Snowflake” out of 3 VG dams and due September to her second also sold for 2000gns.

The “Temptrous” family also topped the incalf heifers at 1700gns for a daughter of “Peak Mr Grey” due in September to the Aberdeen Angus. Others to 1680gns, 1650gns and 1620gns.

Bulling heifers to 900gns for “Twist Polo” with yearlings also at 900gns x 2 for “Bill Phoebe 2nd and 3rd”. A strong yearling trade saw another 5 at 880gns and all 43 averaged over £800. Heifer calves sold to 320gns.
