Cows sold to 2150gns for the fresh commercial second calver which was part of Tim & Louise Ford’s dispersal of their flying herd from Beaminster Dorset, the same vendor had other second calvers at 2100gns, third calvers at 1950gns and fourth calvers also at 1950gns for the red and white Janke Lilac Janie Red 2nd. Their older cows were a very strong trade with fresh calved 6th lactation cows to 1500gns and Shorthorn x cows to 1680gns with the 101 forward averaging £1293. Cows in the collective section sold to 1900 and 1850gns for the Bettiscombe herd.
Crossbred dry cows due November / December from DB Dunford & Sons of Eastleigh sold to 1580gns and 1550gns with incalf heifers from the same vendor to 1400gns.
In the collective section Incalf heifers from Hinton due November sold to 1600gns for Flagship Rosalind 2nd with others at 1550gns and 1480gns to average £1514. Bulling heifers to 840gns for regular consigners JF Cobb & Sons and KR & MK Powell and 830gns for DW Sprackman & Partners Larchcover herd with yearlings to the same money for the Pensdown herd of JAW Bendall & Sons of Bath for two Secretariat daughters. Heifers calves to 420gns x 4 for JF Cobb & Sons.
