Nortonhill Dispersal to 4600gns - Spotlight to 4200gns

The 2022 Spotlight Sale featured the dispersal of David Willcox’s Nortonhill herd. His passion for breeding and genomics had amassed some high numbered individuals from the Carlin and Saratoga families and it was two of these Boghill Glamour heifers that topped the sale. At 4600gns was the number one udder Zazzle in the country who sold back to the ET vet who had been working with her. At 4100 was another Zazzle who had a PLI up to £861 and sold to the Yendell Family from Devon.
The next highest price was the much admired Churchvale Chief Maude who was consigned by Richard & Bethan Thomas, Carmarthenshire and bred from 7 straight generations of Excellent and back to one of the greatest show cows in the UK - Dalesend Storm Maude Ex97. She produced spirited bidding from all corners of the UK and Ireland to be eventually secured by Clive Breeze from Wales.
At 3700 was Wiltor Lautrust Shakira who was a granddaughter of last year’s World Dairy Expo Grand Champion, Erbacres Snapple Shakira Ex97. Consigned by Mike and Lynn Robertson she sold into Wales to S & A Davies & Daughters, Carmarthen.
At 3600gns was the December born calf Erie Pharo Savioure Fare, this illustrious family boasted many excellents and the dam was scored VG86-2yr just before the sale. She sold to Ian Chave (Peacehay) bidding on Marteye.
Marteye played a large part during the day with cattle travelling to and bidding coming from the whole stretch of the UK and Ireland.
The top priced Ayrshire at 3000gns was Pam Ayrs Bigtime Hawaii selling to the Bennett Family (Lilylane). Highest Brown Swiss was 2500gns for Allstar Phil Sindy.
Successful bidders from Cornwall to Carmarthen, and most counties in between as well as, Staffordshire, Scotland and Ireland created the following creditable averages:
