The perennial appeal of the “Fab Four” is certain to be a big attraction at Greenslade Taylor Hunt’s forthcoming quarterly collectors’ sale on Friday, September 6, at The Octagon Salerooms, East Reach, Taunton.

It will also be a trip down “Memory Lane” as the memorabilia featured focuses on The Beatles performance at The Gaumont Theatre, Taunton, in 1963.

The vendor had a front row seat at the concert and has now consigned some precious Beatles souvenirs to the auction.

This treasure trove includes a flyer advertising the show, a front row ticket to the performance, some Beatles fan club merchandise including a flexi-disc and membership card. The lot has a pre-sale guide of £800-£1,000.

Put together by collectables expert and enthusiast Dr Peter Rixon the sale offers a comprehensive range of items to tempt all types of collectors.

As ever the sale includes a choice selection of diecast model cars. Among the pick is a childhood collection of boxed Dinky toys from the 1950s, which is expected to spark a good deal of interest. The “one careful owner” set is in good order. Unmade plastic military kits will also be included in the sale.

The last quarterly sale featured a very strong coin section and this sale provides an interesting and well-considered section. Among items consigned are a George IV crown from 1826 and a Queen Anne crown from 1707 from the Edinburgh Mint. In addition there is a Commonwealth Shilling from 1651.

The regular monthly sale takes place on Thursday, September 5. Items are being accepted for the biannual sporting sale on October 3. Please contact Stuart Triggol on 07860 928797 if you would like to consign items.
