An internet buyer was successful in securing a 19th Century Anglo-Indian Vizagapatam tortoiseshell and ivory veneered table top cabinet at Greenslade Taylor Hunt’s March antiques sale.

The beautiful piece featured three “secret” drawers to each side and sold for £3,360. An extensive Crown Derby crockery service sold for £1,300.

Local artist Harry Frier (1849-1921) is always a favourite in the saleroom and a run of his works garnered interest. The most popular was a watercolour of the Old Town Bridge from the South West, signed and dated. It fetched £520.

The next sale takes place at The Octagon Salerooms, East Reach, Taunton, on Thursday, April 15, from 10am followed by the Spring Sporting Sale in the afternoon. The catalogues will be available to view online from 6pm on Friday, April 9.
