A splendid, 18ct gold platinum old cut diamond ring, reputed to have belonged to a Devon aristocrat is among the alluring offerings at Greenslade Taylor Hunt’s antiques sale on Thursday, May 5.

The ring was a gift and a mark of friendship from Lady Constance Cary, of Torquay, to the vendor. The Cary family is one of Devon’s ancient aristocratic families, whose roots in the county reach back to the 14th Century.
