It was our 7th property and land auction of the year last night (17th October), but it showed no signs of slowing down.

With just shy of £1million worth of business being exchanged, the night proved that auctions are still as popular as ever.

Jeremy Bell, Partner and auctioneer for the event, said: "It was yet another full house for our auction at the Batch County House. There was no mention of the 'B' word, that was the least of people's interest on what turned into another successful property auction."

The star lot was 9.5 acres of agricultural pasture land at Kewstoke, near Weston-super-Mare, when two prospective buyers bid relentlessly until it was eventually knocked down for £260,000, equating to £27,368 per acre. Other agricultural land and residential houses also successfully sold.

This success comes at an uncertain time for both the agricultural and property industries, shinning a light on the resilience they withhold.

We look forward to the next auction taking place at Best Western Tiverton Hotel, Thursday 7th November 2019 at 2:30 PM.
