New Era at Expanding Development Department

February 2022

Leading development land and planning specialists Greenslade Taylor Hunt are looking forward to the future with a range of promotions which will cement the firm as the “go to” experts in the South West.

Graham Ford, who has headed up the department for 24 years and seen it grow from a team of three in Chard to more than 20 at their conveniently sited Taunton base beside the M5 at Junction 25, is handing over the reins to Mark Chugg MRICS.

Mark will handle the day-to-day running of the department, but he and Graham will continue to work closely together as they have done over the past six years to build on the department’s success for clients and their various development projects.

Claire Alers-Hankey MRTPI, who has been promoted to Head of Planning, will assist Mark in running the department.

There have been a number of other promotions - Michila Wilks RIBA has been named Head of Architecture and Design and Sarah Hall has been made Head of New Homes.

Together with Claire and Mark they will form the management team to drive the work of the department and build on the business success that Graham has achieved over the years.

“These promotions reflect their importance to the department and demonstrate their success in leading their respective teams and growing them,” said Mark.

Mel Collins has been promoted to Office Manager and will lead the administrative team, while Jane Curnow becomes New Homes Manager, confirming her importance to the department.

New graduate planner Tom Humphreys has just joined the team and there is scope for more planning professionals to join the firm to meet the demand from clients.

The growing department is relishing the challenges of 2022 and is looking to recruit new colleagues in a range of roles across development, planning, new homes and architecture and design.
