A decision to relinquish the tenancy of Orchard Portman Farm, Taunton, by Messrs JD & AAJ Garland brought a further exceptional machinery dispersal to the market with buyers in attendance from across the UK and Ireland. The Opico Magna 2000 mobile grain drier topped the day at £25,000 and makes its way to a new home in Northern England. The 2014 New Holland LM7.35 telehandler followed closely to £24,700.
Amongst the other vehicles on offer as part of the Orchard Portman dispersal was a 2006 New Holland TS125 Plus which sold to £14,500, despite having a high level of hours on the clock. A Ford 7740 Powerstar tractor sold to £7,400 and the 2wd Ford 3000 reached £3,000. A locally entered 2014 Sumo DTS 4m Drill sold to £17,500 and heads to west Cornwall. Other equipment included a Shelbourne Reynolds Pro 13 feeder wagon to £9,000, Simba X-Press & ST-Bar to £8,200 and 2 x West 12T grain trailers to £5,600 and £5,000.
Also during September, the farms sales team have headed to South Molton on behalf of Arthur and Freda Retter with the auctioneers having sold the farm. The sale comprised a traditional dispersal of livestock equipment and agricultural machinery, with the headline figure being the 1996 Ursus Lightforce Deluxe tractor which sold to £8,000.
Back at Sedgemoor Auction Centre, the September collective saw a tighter entry of agricultural machinery and miscellaneous items with the top call going to a 2005 Takeuchi 360 excavator for £8,000. Other vehicles and machinery sold to £5,500 for a Massey Fergusson 4125, £5,400 and £2,900 for two Bomford Hedge trimmers and a smart post banger sold to £2,400.
As a busy September of machinery sales draws to a conclusion, the GTH farm sales team looks ahead to the next machinery sale, which falls on Friday 5th October at Yarde Farm, West Hatch, Taunton on behalf of Richard Crouch.
