Other main towns in the area include Chard, Yeovil and Taunton all of which have a good range of facilities. Communications to the area are excellent. The A303 is now a dual carriageway most of the way to London and provides fast access to the east. Exeter is under an hour away to the west, and junction 25 of the M5 is about 10 miles north of Ilminster. There are mainline railway stations at Taunton (14 miles - Paddington connection) and Crewkerne (7 miles - Waterloo connection). South coast at Lyme Regis 18 miles.
