Antique Sales are held every month at The Octagon Salerooms and include: Jewellery & Watches, Silver & Silver Plate, Ceramics & Glass, Oriental Ceramics & Works of Art, Pictures, West Country Art, Books & Maps, Collectors Items, Clocks & Barometers, Furniture, Carpets, Oriental Art, Objets du Vertu, Sporting and Decoartive Art & Design. In addition, we hold monthly General Sales at Sedgemoor Auction Centre, just off the M5 at Junction 24, where items are auctioned without a reserve.

Buying at Auction

Viewing
All sales are on view at The Octagon Salerooms, East Reach, Taunton, on the Tuesday & Wednesday preceding the sale and the morning of the sale from 8.30am.

Catalogues
Available to buy at the Saleroom on both view and sale days. They can also be found online at www.gth.net/antiques and www.the-saleroom.com.

Registration
In order to bid you will need a buyer’s number. Simply bring along two forms of ID to register - a passport or driving licence is ideal, plus a utility bill or official document showing your current address.

Sale Day
The sale gets underway at 10am with viewing prior to this from 8.30am. Around 100-120 lots are sold per hour.

Unable to attend?
Simply leave a commission bid with us and we will try to purchase on your behalf at the best achievable price, or a limited number of phone lines are available for you to bid via telephone if you cannot attend the auction.

Buyer's premium
Debit card and bank transfers. A buyer’s premium of 19.5% plus VAT is added to the hammer price of all lots purchased.
An additional 4.95% plus VAT will be payable if buying online.

Collection
Once accounts are settled purchases will be released on presentation of a receipted invoice to a member of staff. We request collection within seven days.

Postage and Delivery
Unfortunately, we are unable to pack and post items but can recommend delivery specialists. We can also recommend a local haulier for the delivery of furniture or larger items.
