Auctions to suit all tastes and budgets
January 2024
Our Antiques colleagues are settling into their new home at Sedgemoor Auction Centre, North Petherton, where they are offering an expanded service.
Re-named The Somerset Auction Rooms, the team are now hosting antiques and interiors sales fortnightly, with selected antiques auctions bi-monthly.
The next date for your diary is Thursday, February 1, when there will be a double offering with a sale of jewellery, silverware and watches from 10am. This will be followed at 11.30am by an antiques and interiors auction.
Items in the latter sale are all offered without reserve – giving salegoers the chance to snap up a bargain and enjoy a great day out.
There is plenty of free parking on site, which is handily placed beside the M5 at Junction 24 and there is also a café to help sustain you.
In person sales are by no means the only offering from the long-established antiques experts. Throughout the year a range of timed online only auctions take place. These attract national and international interest. A recent one featured collectables, toys and antiques, while another currently online on the saleroom.com is focussed on fishing equipment. It closes at 7pm on Monday, January 29.
The department also regularly sells items on behalf of charities, helping to maximise the value of the lots offered.
More than 30 different causes have benefitted from auction sales and more than £5,000 has gone to worthy causes since sales were first staged at Sedgemoor.
As well as dealing with national and regional charities like Oxfam and St Margaret’s Hospice they also help smaller ones like the West Somerset Railway and The Community Bookshop.
Some individual clients also ask for sale proceeds to be donated to their nominated charity.
Whatever your reason for selling the expert team at the Somerset Auction Rooms can advise on the best route for your particular item.
