Auctioneers Greenslade Taylor Hunt have been providing vendors with excellent returns on their gold valuables and June’s antiques auction was no exception.
An 18ct gold fob chain with 9ct T bar comfortably exceeded its pre-sale guide to sell at £2,250 at the Somerset Salerooms, Sedgemoor Auction Centre, Junction 24, North Petherton.

A run of Sovereigns in ring, bracelet and brooch format were also popular. A gent’s full Sovereign coin ring, dated 1891, sold for £750.
A full Sovereign 1912 coin charm bracelet mounted in a 9ct gold spectacle set frame, hallmarked Birmingham 1989, went for £650 and a 15ct gold brooch set with full Sovereign coin dated 1887 sold for £600.
A 9ct gold necklace and pendant featuring a St Christopher medallion, hallmarked London, 1977, went for £740, while a well-viewed Omega Seamaster mariner’s wristwatch, circa 1975, achieved £550.
